School Teacher Arrested on Suspicion of Secretly Filming Female Students, Claims 'I Did It 100 Times'
A school teacher in Kanagawa, Japan, has been arrested for allegedly filming the underwear of female students, claiming to have done so around 100 times over the past three years.
A 36-year-old public school teacher named Kota Fujii was arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police on suspicion of violating laws related to sexual acts, particularly for secretly filming underage girls at a school in Kanagawa Prefecture. According to investigators, Fujii confessed that he had been driven by an uncontrollable desire to see parts of the body that are typically hidden and purportedly engaged in such acts for approximately three years. He claimed to have filmed undergarments roughly 100 times throughout this period.
Police discovered over 50 images on Fujii's smartphone that appeared to be taken without consent of women, prompting further investigation into the underlying connections to these offenses. The arrest occurred on the 17th of the month, after an incident on the 6th, when a report was made to the police about someone secretly filming at the JR Ochanomizu Station in Tokyo. Upon questioning Fujii there, authorities investigated his phone, where they found no incriminating images from the station but did locate images believed to be related to the school context.
The ongoing investigation is delving into whether there are further victims or additional evidence regarding the prior incidents Fujii mentioned. This case raises significant concerns about safety in schools and protections for children, and will likely prompt discussions on the adequacy of current preventive measures against such crimes, particularly by individuals in positions of authority over minors.
