Five candidates who frauded PM exam must be eliminated, says commander

Five candidates are suspected of hiring criminals to fraud the Military Police exam in Tocantins, Brazil, and will be eliminated from the selection process.

A recent operation by the Civil Police in Brazil has uncovered five candidates involved in a scheme to fraud the Military Police (PM) exam in Tocantins. These candidates allegedly hired criminals to assist in cheating during the exam. The police confirmed that these individuals will be excluded from the ongoing selection process, which is continuing without disruption for the other approved candidates. This operation, dubbed 'Última Etapa,' involved executing eight arrest warrants and nine search warrants spanning multiple states including Pernambuco, Paraíba, Pará, and Goiás.

The investigation into this fraud began shortly after the test, which took place in June 2025. There were indications of irregularities that prompted the inquiry, leading to the identification of these suspects. The spokesperson for the Military Police, Lieutenant Colonel Thiago Monteiro, provided insights into the findings during an interview, stating that vigilance over the exam processes is essential to maintain integrity and public trust in law enforcement recruitment.

As the PM exam is crucial for aspiring police officers in Brazil, the elimination of these candidates not only aims to uphold its integrity but also serves to deter future fraudulent activities. The ongoing proceedings are significant for ensuring that the selection processes within law enforcement remain credible, safeguarding the interests of honest candidates and the public they serve.
