PRF seizes 2,500 canisters of lança-perfume and other drugs on BR-116, in MG

The Brazilian Federal Highway Police seized a significant amount of drugs, including 2,500 canisters of lança-perfume, during a traffic stop in Teófilo Otoni, Minas Gerais.

On the night of Tuesday, October 17, the Brazilian Federal Highway Police (PRF) conducted a traffic stop on BR-116 in Teófilo Otoni, located in the Vale do Mucuri region of Minas Gerais. During the inspection at kilometer 278, officers became suspicious of a rented car with a Bahian license plate that contained numerous boxes in the back seat. This led to a thorough search of the vehicle.

Upon inspection, police discovered a large stash of illicit substances, including 2,500 canisters of cloreto de etila, commonly known as "lança-perfume", along with 40 blocks of marijuana, 418 grams of ecstasy, and two small portions of cocaine. The driver, a man who claimed to be renting the vehicle, was arrested for drug trafficking after the discovery of these drugs.

This operation highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement in Brazil to combat drug trafficking on highways, particularly in regions where drug routes are prevalent. The successful seizure not only removes a significant quantity of drugs from circulation but also underscores the importance of vigilant policing in maintaining road safety and curbing illegal drug trade.
