Man arrested in flagrante with hundreds of bottles of lança-perfume in Petrópolis

A 36-year-old man was arrested in Brazil while transporting hundreds of bottles of the drug lança-perfume, indicating a significant drug trafficking operation in the region.

A 36-year-old man was apprehended by the Federal Highway Police in Brazil after being found with a large shipment of ‘lança-perfume’, a drug commonly used for its euphoric effects. This occurred during a routine traffic stop on BR-040 in Petrópolis, where law enforcement suspected irregularities due to the suspect’s erratic statements and inability to clarify his travel origin.

Upon searching the vehicle, authorities discovered 260 ready-to-use bottles of cloreto de etila, a substance well-known as lança-perfume, in the trunk. Additionally, they found 25 liters of the same substance stored in two large jugs, along with 700 empty bottles that were prepared for subsequent use. The drugs were reportedly destined for Três Rios, a municipality in the state of Rio de Janeiro, highlighting a potentially extensive distribution network.

This incident sheds light on the ongoing issues with drug trafficking in the region, particularly concerning lança-perfume, which has gained popularity as a recreational drug. The proactive measures taken by the PRF underscore the efforts of Brazilian authorities to combat drug-related crimes and prevent substances from reaching consumers. The case may contribute to broader discussions about drug policies and enforcement strategies in Brazil as they respond to the evolving nature of drug trafficking and consumption.
