Ecuador's President Daniel Noboa committed $23 million to support entrepreneurs and housing initiatives during an event in Cuenca.
In an event held in Cuenca, Ecuador, President Daniel Noboa presented a financial commitment of $23 million aimed at assisting local entrepreneurs and supporting housing projects through the 'Your House Miti Miti' plan. This initiative is part of the government's broader strategy to bolster economic development and provide financial security for small businesses. During the event, two entrepreneurs shared their success stories, detailing how government-issued loans have empowered them to launch businesses in transportation and wellness, thereby creating new job opportunities within their communities.
Noboa highlighted that, since the onset of his administration, a total of $671 million has been allocated towards supporting various entrepreneurial ventures nationwide. He emphasized the government's focus on fostering an environment conducive to economic growth, which includes making credit more accessible through public banking and cooperative financial institutions. The president further introduced initiatives like low-interest mortgage loans at 2.99% through the Biess and the Emprende Violeta credit program, specifically designed to assist female entrepreneurs at a rate of 9.8% through BAN Ecuador.
This financial support is seen as a critical step in addressing the need for economic rejuvenation in Ecuador, particularly in post-pandemic recovery. By investing in local businesses and providing more viable financing options, Noboa aims to create sustainable job growth and economic stability, thereby reinforcing the strategic goals of enhancing the countryโs economic fabric and ensuring that financial resources are allocated where they are most needed.
