Space with computers and free online courses is opened for residents in Cabo Frio

A new facility featuring computers and free online courses has opened in Cabo Frio, Brazil, aimed at providing local residents with resources for education and professional development.

Residents of Cabo Frio, located in the Região dos Lagos of Rio de Janeiro, now have access to a new facility featuring computers with free internet, aimed at enhancing educational opportunities and professional development. This space, situated at the Centro de Apoio ao Ensino a Distância (Caed), was inaugurated in March as part of the Projeto Albatroz, which receives sponsorship from Petrobras. With 17 computers available, the initiative primarily targets students but is also open to community members seeking to improve their qualifications or access online services.

The creation of this facility is a collaborative effort, involving partnerships with the Secretaria Adjunta da Família e Juventude (Sefajuv), which will also facilitate distance vocational courses. Prior to the establishment of this dedicated computer space, the facility hosted various activities such as painting, embroidery, and gatherings of the Coletivo Jovem Albatroz, but with this expansion, it is now poised to significantly support educational pursuits and skill development among local residents.

Community members stand to benefit greatly from this initiative, as it not only provides the necessary tools for learning but also fosters a supportive environment for personal growth. As education becomes increasingly accessible through technology, such programs can bridge gaps in resources and empower individuals to pursue their educational and career goals more effectively.
