A new factory will be built in this Lithuanian city: promising to create about 100 new jobs
A new factory by Glass LT Fire, backed by EU and bank funding, is set to create around 100 jobs near Jonava, Lithuania.
In a significant development for the local economy, Glass LT Fire is poised to construct a new factory on a 3.5-hectare site near Jonava, Lithuania, with a planned area of 7,600 square meters. The project, spearheaded by major shareholder Giedrius Jackūnas, combines funding from the European Union, the company's own finances, and a bank loan from Artea. This new facility is expected to contribute around 100 jobs to the region, enhancing the local job market and providing new opportunities for residents.
The factory will specialize in manufacturing tempered glass, a product known for its superior strength, impact resistance, and thermal resilience compared to regular glass. The process of tempering glass involves thermal treatment, making it several times stronger and safer in terms of shattering; when broken, it fractures into small, less harmful pieces. The characteristics of tempered glass make it ideal for use in various high-demand environments, including building facades, glass packages, doors, partitions, railings, shower enclosures, showcases, and in transportation and industrial products.
This investment aligns with the long-term strategy of the Glass LT group to strengthen its production vertical integration and reduce dependency on external suppliers. The new factory represents not only growth for the company but also a commitment to developing the local economy and reinforcing its position in the market as a reliable manufacturer of high-quality glass products. As the project progresses, it is expected to attract further interest in the industrial sector in Lithuania, highlighting the importance of investing in local manufacturing capabilities.
