Weather's Turn in Delhi-NCR, Heavy Rainfall with Strong Winds

The weather in Delhi-NCR changed dramatically on Wednesday evening with strong winds and heavy rainfall due to a new western disturbance.

On Wednesday evening, the weather in Delhi-NCR experienced a sudden change as heavy winds accompanied by rain swept through the region, influenced by a new western disturbance. Throughout the day, cool winds blew and the sun remained mild, providing relief to residents. However, as evening approached, clouds rolled in and the atmosphere turned even more pleasant as rain started to pour alongside strong gusts of wind.

According to the Meteorological Department, light rain is expected in Delhi over the next few days, which could offer respite from the increased heat seen recently. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts that the day will be partly cloudy while the night might see full cloud cover. They have predicted light rainfall along with thunder and lightning, with strong winds reaching speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour.

Due to the activation of the western disturbance, a drop in daytime temperatures is anticipated. On Wednesday, the minimum temperature registered at 18 degrees Celsius, slightly above average. A yellow alert has been issued for Thursday and Friday, indicating light rain and strong winds in the area, which could help mitigate the heat experienced in recent days.
