Weather changes in Delhi-NCR in the early morning, rain in several areas
Morning showers in Delhi bring relief to residents experiencing early March heat as rain warnings are issued for the region.
This Sunday morning, the weather in Delhi displayed a significant shift as light rain fell across various areas, providing much-needed relief for residents who have been enduring an unusually warm March. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a rain alert for the Delhi-NCR region, predicting thunderstorms and heavy winds with speeds of 30-40 km/h. Such weather changes have been welcomed after days of rising temperatures.
According to IMD forecasts, the skies on March 15 are expected to be mostly cloudy with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall continuing through the afternoon. Temperature forecasts indicate highs between 29°C to 31°C and lows of 17°C to 19°C, reflecting a temporary but welcome relief from the warmer weather experienced in recent days. In the Palam area, morning rainfall was already reported, suggesting widespread impacts across the city.
Moreover, similar weather patterns are anticipated in neighboring regions such as Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, with rain expected from March 15 to March 19. This forecast also extends to northern states like Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, where thunderstorms and gusty winds could occur. Overall, this change in weather not only affects daily life in Delhi but also has broader implications for agricultural conditions and temperature regulation in the region.
