At that point, the team was criticized for being aged and slow, with key players struggling to perform amidst instability stemming from coaching changes.

In a significant turnaround, the team changed its head coach from Ján Pardavý to Martin Janeček, who was previously leading the last-ranked junior team. However, after five games with Janeček, Peter Oremus took over the coaching duties, bringing back veteran coach Richard Kapuš.
