Slavia turned things around against Karviná in the rain, Zlín wasted a penalty against Dukla
Prague's Slavia secured a 3:1 victory against Karviná, maintaining their unbeaten record in the season's football league.
In a thrilling match during the 22nd round of the Czech first league, Prague’s Slavia triumphed over Karviná with a score of 3:1. This victory enables Slavia to maintain their unbeaten streak for the season, extending it to 23 matches, while also holding an eight-point lead over their nearest rival, Sparta Prague. The match saw Slavia’s top scorer Tomáš Chorý putting them ahead, followed by an equalizer from Karviná’s Pavel Kačor before halftime. The second half allowed Slavia to reassert their dominance with goals from Jan Bořil and substitute Mojmír Chytil.
In addition to Slavia's impressive performance, this win marked their sixth consecutive victory over Karviná in the league, suggesting a clear competitive advantage. Karviná, on the other hand, faced their third defeat in the spring part of the season and risked slipping out of the top six positions in the league table. The defeat was particularly disappointing for their coach, Marek Jarolím, as he was facing his former club.
Both teams had to play without key players; Karviná was missing their captain Fleišman due to a suspension, alongside three others from Slavia due to an agreement between clubs. The absence of these players highlighted the challenges both teams faced and how it could impact their performances in the ongoing league competition.
