Providing 240,000 Won Worth of 'Eco-Friendly Agricultural Products Package' for Pregnant Women Starting This Fall
Starting this autumn, the South Korean government will offer eco-friendly agricultural product packages worth 240,000 won to all pregnant women across the country, with a personal cost of 20%.
The South Korean government has announced that it will provide eco-friendly agricultural product packages worth 240,000 won for all pregnant women starting in the latter half of this year. This initiative aims to ensure a stable demand for organic products while also creating a supportive environment for childbirth and parenting. Pregnant women will be required to pay 20% of the total cost, with the government covering the remaining 80%.
Eligibility for the program is open to all pregnant women in the country, including those who give birth after January 1, 2025, and those currently pregnant at the time of application. Selected participants will receive online mall points equivalent to the total worth of the package, which will allow them to order the products at a significantly reduced personal cost. For instance, if a package costs 100,000 won, the individual's contribution would be only 20,000 won. This move not only supports dietary safety concerns for sensitive pregnant women but also promotes the consumption of eco-friendly products.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is currently preparing for the launch of the program, which is slated for July. They plan to announce specific application details and delivery methods through local government websites, online maternity cafes, and organic shopping platforms soon, ensuring that eligible pregnant women are informed about the benefits available to them.
