HS poll: These parties are competing
A recent poll shows the Social Democratic Party (SDP) remains Finland's most popular party, despite a slight decrease in support.
The latest HS poll indicates that the Social Democratic Party (SDP) continues to lead as the most preferred political party in Finland, garnering 24.8% of voter support if elections were held now. Following SDP, the National Coalition Party is in second place with 17.8% of the votes. The poll underscores a competitive race for the third position between the Finns Party and the Centre Party, with the Centre Party at 13.7% and the Finns Party closely trailing at 13.4%.
A comparison with the previous survey reveals a slight decline in support for the Centre Party by 0.4 percentage points, whereas the Finns Party saw a minor increase of the same measure. Meanwhile, the Green League also reported a similar rise. The Left Alliance achieved its record last time, and its support has remained consistent at 10.4%. The SDP saw a small decrease of 0.3 percentage points, with changes among other parties being minimal.
It is important to note that all adjustments fall within the survey’s margin of error, suggesting that some reported changes in voter preferences may not represent significant shifts in the political landscape. As Finland approaches the next elections, these polling figures highlight the shifting dynamics among political parties and the competitive environment leading up to the vote.
