In the rural municipality of Altos, Piauí, two young men, aged 24 and 25, identified by the initials E.S.C. and A.R.C.O., are under investigation for serious crimes including kidnapping, torture, and robbery. The incidents took place on February 17 of this year, and following the investigation, preventive arrest warrants were executed against the suspects in a state prison where they were already detained for another robbery in Teresina.

According to Police Chief André Moreno, the suspects broke into the victim's house, subjected him to torture, and kidnapped him, stealing various personal belongings in the process. Although the police have not disclosed specific details regarding the items taken or the current health status of the victim, it is noted that some of the stolen items were recovered from locations associated with the suspects and were identified by the victim.

The suspects are also linked to other criminal activities, including an attempted homicide, indicating a broader pattern of violent behavior. The case underscores serious issues related to crime in rural areas of Brazil, highlighting the need for law enforcement to address such incidents effectively to ensure community safety.
