Pair arrested suspected of stealing about R$ 2,000 from a gas distributor in southern Piauí; video recorded the action
Two men were arrested after allegedly robbing a gas distributor in Picos, southern Piauí, capturing the incident on video.
In a recent incident in Picos, southern Piauí, two men, identified by their initials W.D de O. and J.L. de M.O., were apprehended by the police after they allegedly committed a robbery at a local gas distributor. The robbery occurred around noon on Thursday, when the armed duo made off with approximately R$ 2,000. Security footage captured the whole incident, providing crucial evidence for the police investigation.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Felipe, the commander of the 4th Battalion of the Military Police (4th BPM), the suspects were tracked down just hours after the theft in the Morada Nova neighborhood along the city's main avenue. During the arrest, police discovered R$ 808 in cash on the suspects. One of the individuals admitted to their involvement in the robbery and revealed the location where he had concealed the motorcycle and firearm used in the crime.
Following their confession, the suspects were taken to the Central de Flagrantes de Picos to undergo the necessary legal proceedings. The police confiscated the motorcycle, the cash, and the firearm, further solidifying the case against the accused. This incident highlights ongoing issues with crime in the region and the efforts of local law enforcement to swiftly address such incidents.
