Barra Mansa promotes a drive for issuing documents and free civil marriage
Barra Mansa, Brazil, is hosting a free documentation drive next week that includes services for issuing vital documents and free civil marriages.
Barra Mansa, located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, is set to hold the Rural Workers Documentation Drive from March 24-26 at Parque da Cidade. This event aims to provide free citizenship services, particularly focusing on the regularization of documents for rural workers but is open to the entire population, including urban residents. One of the highlights of the initiative is the provision of free civil weddings, allowing couples to formalize their unions without the financial burden.
The drive is a collaborative effort between the local government, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Agriculture (MDA), and the National Institute for Colonization and Agrarian Reform (Incra). It is part of the National Citizenship and Well-being Program for Rural Women, which seeks to enhance access to documentation and public policies for rural women and workers. By targeting this demographic, the initiative aims to empower them and improve their legal standing in society.
During the event, various essential services will be available, such as the issuance and updating of CPF (Brazilian individual taxpayer registry identification), National Identity Cards, and regularization of voter registrations. Additionally, attendees can receive guidance on other public services, thereby positioning the drive as a crucial step in enhancing the welfare and rights of rural communities within the region.
