In a significant operation by Nigeria's Department of State Services (DSS), a suspected gunrunner, identified as Kelvin Dugo, was apprehended in Cross River State while allegedly attempting to receive a delivery of 832 rounds of live ammunition. The arrest took place at Ivara Esu Estate in Odukpani Local Government Area, following credible intelligence that indicated a plan to procure large quantities of illegal firearms. The ammunition was reportedly linked to another suspect, Azenda Barnabas, from Benue State, who is believed to be part of a larger gunrunning network.

The DSS operatives acted swiftly, intercepting Dugo shortly after he received the consignment, which was cleverly concealed among food items.
