Rescue operations are ongoing in the gardening community of Ekranas 2 in Panevėžys District, where water from melting snow has inundated several garden houses on Žibučių Alley. Firefighters have promptly arrived and started pumping out water to alleviate the flooding situation. The local municipality has joined the emergency response to manage the crisis effectively.

In response to the flooding, a meeting was held with community residents, which included representatives from the municipality, the head of the Panevėžys district, and specialists from the fire and rescue service. During this meeting, participants discussed preventive measures and how residents can prepare for potential future events of this nature. Emphasis was placed on the importance of community awareness about risks as well as individual preparedness in such flood-prone areas.

Aivaras Valantiejus, an advisor from the Panevėžys district municipal administration, reiterated the importance of being proactive. He noted that residents in areas susceptible to flooding should equip themselves with necessary tools, such as water pumps, and ensure the protection of their properties. As the water levels in the rivers begin to recede, the focus will shift to long-term strategies to minimize future flooding risks and enhance community resilience.
