In a recent effort to enhance road safety, Lithuanian police conducted checks near educational institutions during morning hours, coinciding with the drop-off of children to schools and kindergartens. During this operation, they identified several alarming instances of traffic violations, particularly focusing on the importance of seatbelt use for children. The police discovered 583 cases where drivers failed to wear seatbelts, including 87 incidents where children were seated improperly due to non-compliance with traffic regulations.

Among these violations, one case stood out significantly: a woman was found to have a blood alcohol level of 1.2 while driving her children to school.
