In Kaunas district, a woman with 4 promille was caught driving an 'Audi'
A woman in Kaunas was caught driving with a blood alcohol level of 4.05 promille, following a series of drunk driving incidents involving multiple individuals in the area.
On February 23, several drunk driving incidents were reported in Kaunas and the surrounding area, highlighting a troubling trend of impaired driving. The first incident involved a 1976-born man driving a 'Kia' who crashed into a metal pole and another parked vehicle, with a blood alcohol level of 1.86 promille. Shortly after, another case involved a 1999-born man behind the wheel of a 'Volkswagen', also found to be over the legal limit with 1.68 promille.
Later that evening, a 1998-born man was pulled over while driving an 'Audi' with a blood alcohol level reaching 2.32 promille. However, the most concerning case emerged early the next day, on February 24, when a 1988-born woman was stopped while driving an 'Audi' and found to have an alarming blood alcohol level of 4.05 promille, classified as severe intoxication. This egregious behavior has led the Kaunas regional police to initiate pre-trial investigations against all the suspects for driving under the influence of alcohol.
These incidents underline the ongoing issue of drunk driving in the region and raise questions about public safety and the effectiveness of current measures in deterring such reckless behavior. Local authorities will likely need to implement stricter regulations and increase public awareness campaigns to combat this dangerous trend and promote safe driving practices among citizens.
