Drunk drivers wreak havoc on the roads: one had an alcohol level of more than 2.6 per mille

Several drunk drivers were apprehended in Lithuania, with one recording a blood alcohol content of 2.62 per mille.

On March 9, in the Turgelių area of Šalčininkai district, a 41-year-old man was caught driving a BS420X agricultural vehicle with a dangerously high blood alcohol level of 2.62 per mille. Shortly after, another intoxicated driver, a 59-year-old man in a Toyota Rav4, was stopped in the Švenčionys district with a blood alcohol level of 1.95 per mille. In a separate incident later that day, a 33-year-old man driving a Volvo XC90 in Eišiškės recorded an alcohol level of 1.96 per mille. These numbers exceed legal driving limits significantly, underscoring the persistent problem of alcohol-related offenses on Lithuanian roads.

Additionally, a serious accident occurred that evening in Vilnius, where a 42-year-old woman's BMW collided with a truck after she was found to have a blood alcohol level of 2.11 per mille. After suffering injuries, she received outpatient treatment, highlighting not only the dangers of drunk driving but also the potential for severe consequences.
