Meet the participants of the 70th class of the Folha Daily Journalism Training
The 70th class of the Folha Daily Journalism Training Program, focusing on economic journalism, began its three-month activities with 20 trainees on March 9, 2023.
On March 9, 2023, the Folha newspaper in Brazil commenced the 70th edition of its Daily Journalism Training Program with 20 participants. This year's training program emphasizes economic journalism, reflecting the growing importance of economic issues in the media landscape. Over the next three months, those selected for the program will engage in lectures and debates led by industry experts, covering a variety of journalistic practices and writing techniques.
Throughout the training, participants will have the opportunity to rotate through the different editorial sections of Folha, gaining firsthand experience in the daily operations of the newsroom. This immersive aspect of the program allows trainees to apply what they learn in lectures to real-world journalism, thereby enhancing their understanding of the profession and improving their skills. The program is sponsored by notable organizations, including the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban) and the National Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA/Senar).
Among the participants is Alana Morzelli, a 20-year-old journalism student from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), who has long aspired to a career in journalism. The diverse backgrounds of the trainees suggest a promising cohort of young journalists eager to explore various aspects of reporting and writing, especially concerning economic topics that are vital for informing the public and shaping discourse in society.
