Ceiling fan fell on woman judge, injuries to head and shoulder
A ceiling fan fell on a woman judge during a court session in Indore, injuring her head and shoulder.
In a shocking incident at the Indore district court, a ceiling fan suddenly detached and fell onto the chair where a woman additional session judge was sitting during a regular court hearing. Eyewitnesses reported a loud noise just before the heavy fan dropped, resulting in injuries to the judge's head and shoulder, prompting immediate first aid. Fortunately, her condition has been reported to be stable and not life-threatening.
The incident sparked outrage among lawyers and court staff, who quickly gathered at the site to voice their concerns. LL Yadav, the president of the district court advocate association, along with lawyer Vinod Dwivedi, criticized the dilapidated state of the building, pointing out that many courtrooms have outdated electrical fittings and wiring. Complaints about leaking ceilings and weak structures have been ongoing for years, with accusations that repairs are merely superficial and not addressing the underlying issues.
