On Tuesday afternoon, a structural failure in a company building located in downtown Fortaleza led to the partial collapse of its ceiling, injuring a woman who was caught under the debris. The incident drew immediate response from the Military Fire Corps, which was called around 5:15 PM after reports indicated that someone had been trapped beneath the ruins. Local police also arrived to secure the area while emergency services worked to rescue the victim.

The Fire Corps reported that the collapse involved the ceiling, slab, and first floor of the establishment. The injured woman was successfully rescued and reported to be conscious, though she suffered significant injuries including an exposed fracture in her left knee and tibia, along with closed fractures in her upper limbs and abrasions over her body and face. Following initial medical aid at the scene, she was transported to the Instituto Dr. José Frota (IJF) for further treatment.

In addition to the fire services, the Civil Defense of Fortaleza was also engaged in response efforts, highlighting the seriousness of the incident and the potential risks associated with structural failures in urban buildings.
