Floods Daniel 2023 in Thessaly: myBusinessSupport open for the second phase of support
The myBusinessSupport platform has opened for applications related to the second phase of financial support for businesses affected by the floods in Thessaly caused by weather events in September 2023.
The myBusinessSupport platform has launched its second phase to offer financial assistance to businesses in Thessaly that were affected by the severe flooding event known as Daniel, which occurred in September 2023. Businesses suffered economic losses due to the indirect consequences of these severe weather conditions. The initiative, supported by various governmental departments, aims to facilitate the recovery of the affected regions through financial relief and support mechanisms tailored to local needs.
The Greek ministries involved, including the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, and the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, have collaborated with the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) to ensure swift and effective support to the enterprises in the hardest-hit areas. The assistance program offers five different sub-schemes, specifically designed for various types of businesses, excluding agricultural enterprises, particularly in municipalities like Palama and Farkadona, which experienced intense flooding.
This coordinated effort by the government not only highlights the immediate steps taken to alleviate the financial burdens faced by local businesses due to natural disasters but also signals a broader commitment to enhancing disaster resilience in the region. By opening this platform for applications, the Greek authorities aim to hasten economic recovery and ensure affected enterprises can regain footing in the wake of the natural calamity, promoting long-term stability in the regionβs economy.
