DYPA: Applications for the new entrepreneurship support program for ages 18-29 with a subsidy of €17,500
The Greek government has launched an entrepreneurship support initiative for unemployed youth aged 18-29, providing subsidies to encourage business development, with a focus on women and green digital economy.
Starting today, February 18th, the electronic submission for funding applications opens for a new initiative by the Greek Agency for Employment (DYPA) targeting young unemployed individuals aged 18 to 29. This program, which will accept applications for one month until March 18, 2026, emphasizes inclusion for women and aims to promote both the digital and green economy. The initiative is seen as a significant step towards alleviating youth unemployment in Greece.
The Minister of Labor and Social Security, Niki Kerameos, highlighted that the unemployment rate has reached 7.5%, marking the second-lowest rate in Greek history. Despite the improving overall unemployment figures, she emphasized that there are still areas needing improvement, particularly regarding the employment prospects for youth and women. Through this program, the ministry aims to bridge this gap by empowering young individuals to start their businesses and gain financial independence.
This entrepreneurship support program reflects the government's broader commitment to fostering economic growth through innovation and sustainability. By providing substantial financial backing to young entrepreneurs, particularly women, the initiative not only addresses immediate unemployment concerns but also contributes to long-term economic resilience by encouraging the development of new businesses within the digital and green sectors.
