Jhansi: The criminal who was caught in an encounter escaped by taking an auto!

A 19-year-old accused named Nadeem escaped police custody while being escorted for a medical examination after being arrested for theft in Jhansi, India.

In a recent incident in Jhansi, India, the local police arrested two men, Nadeem and Deepak Jatav, for theft following an encounter on Sunday night. The police recovered jewelry worth around 6 lakh rupees and weapons from the suspects, marking a significant achievement for law enforcement. However, the situation took a turn when, during a medical examination at a district hospital, Nadeem managed to escape from police custody, raising concerns about security protocols and handling of detainees.

Nadeem, a resident of Datia district, is allegedly involved in two significant thefts in the city, making his escape particularly troubling for law enforcement officials. After his escape, Nadeem cleverly devised a strategy to leave the city. He approached an auto-rickshaw driver, Amit Kushwaha, pretending to be a distressed son needing urgent transport to see his ill mother. Remarkably, the driver did not notice the handcuffs on Nadeem, allowing him to travel without suspicion for a fare of 150 rupees.

This incident has prompted an immediate investigation by police officials, who rushed to the hospital to review their security measures and initiate a citywide search operation. The brazen escape of Nadeem not only posed a challenge for local law enforcement but also highlighted potential lapses in police procedures and the need for improved measures to ensure the custody of accused persons. Authorities are now under pressure to enhance their operational protocols to prevent such incidents in the future.
