From the elevator in Jonava – to the hospital: a man found with a split head, his foot trapped in the door
A man was found injured in an elevator in Jonava after falling asleep and sustaining a head injury while trapped.
On March 16, at 15:13, the Kaunas Fire Rescue Department received a report of an incident involving a man in an elevator on Chemikų Street in Jonava. The man, who was reportedly intoxicated, had fallen asleep and suffered a head injury while his foot was trapped in the elevator door, preventing him from opening it. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they discovered the man lying in the elevator with his foot caught between the doors, which were locked due to the accident.
The firefighters used a crowbar to force the doors open and successfully rescued the trapped man. After being freed, the man was immediately transported to a medical facility to receive treatment for the injury sustained to his head. Fortunately, the quick response from emergency services prevented further injuries and ensured the man received the necessary medical care.
This incident highlights the potential dangers associated with intoxication and the importance of safety measures in public facilities.
