Attica Group: Fleet Renewal Accelerates – New Ships in the Saronic and Adriatic

Attica Group is accelerating its fleet renewal program by selling six older vessels and acquiring three newer ones to enhance passenger experience and reduce environmental impact.

Attica Group is increasing the pace of its fleet renewal strategy by selling six older ships with an average age of 29.3 years and acquiring three newer vessels with an average age of 7.3 years. This initiative aims to upgrade functionality, enhance passenger experience, and reduce the environmental footprint of their operations. The investment reflects a commitment to sustainability and modernization in their service offerings.

In the Saronic Gulf, the Group has signed agreements to purchase two Highspeed Catamarans of the Aero type, with a total investment of approximately 15 million euros, including upgrade and operational costs. These vessels, built in 2017 and 2018 from carbon fibers, are set to be launched this summer as Aero Highspeed 4 and Aero Highspeed 5. The transition to these modern vessels signifies a strategic shift towards advanced technology in maritime transport.

According to Attica Group, the new catamarans not only promise improved energy efficiency but will also achieve around a 60% reduction in annual COâ‚‚ emissions compared to the ships being replaced. Additionally, they are designed to enhance comfort, speed, and reliability for travelers, aligning with broader trends in the maritime industry towards greener and more efficient operations while ensuring a better travel experience for commuters.
