In Thane, Maharashtra, a troubling incident has emerged where a 28-year-old man was arrested for allegedly performing obscene acts in front of a 13-year-old girl. The incident occurred in a chawl in the Bhivandi area. A female resident reported the incident to the police, stating that when her daughter was standing outside their home, the accused engaged in lewd behavior in her presence.

Upon receiving the complaint, local police registered a case under Section 79 of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to acts aimed at outraging a woman's modesty, and also under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The investigation was initiated immediately following the report on March 14, highlighting the seriousness with which local authorities are addressing such cases of juvenile safety.
