A 28-year-old man from Thessaloniki has been sentenced to a decade in prison for sexually exploiting a 13-year-old girl by coercing her to send nude photos and videos via an online platform. The court found that the perpetrator had given specific pose instructions to the minor while threatening to reveal her explicit images to her school environment if she refused to comply with his demands.

The case came to light in May 2019 when the victim, a middle school student, confided in her mother about the traumatic experiences she was enduring. Evidence presented at the trial included at least ten pornographic photographs and one video, with the disturbing revelation that one of the images had potentially circulated among an unknown number of internet users, including minors.

According to the prosecution, the man had initially contacted the girl through a fake profile on a popular social media platform, establishing a rapport before beginning to extort her when he obtained explicit material. This case highlights the critical issues of online child exploitation and the necessity for both legal protections and heightened awareness regarding internet safety among minors.
