Pre-monsoon activity in Delhi-NCR, rain expected again this week
Pre-monsoon season has begun in Delhi-NCR with light rains observed on March 15, providing some relief from the preceding heat.
The pre-monsoon season has commenced in Delhi-NCR, marked by light rainfall on Sunday, March 15. Although the rain was not heavy, it covered a wide area, affecting regions including Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Gurugram. The rainfall activities were noted to have started early in the morning, continuing until the afternoon, after which improvements in weather conditions were observed. According to the weather agency Skymet, there is a possibility of more rain in Delhi-NCR one or two more times during the week. The light rain on Sunday led to a slight decrease in temperatures, providing some respite from the previous days of heat. Prior to this, temperatures had been above normal for over a week, with maximum temperatures recorded at over 35 degrees Celsius for six consecutive days from March 7 to 12, reaching a peak of 36.8 degrees Celsius on March 11. On March 15, maximum temperatures fell to 30.1 degrees Celsius, marking the lowest temperature recorded this month, although it remains higher than normal for this time of year. The weather changes indicate a shift in seasonal patterns and could be significant in terms of agricultural activities and day-to-day life in the region, as citizens adapt to changing climatic conditions during the transition to the monsoon season.
