The upcoming KIMES 2026, scheduled to be held from March 19 to 22 at the COEX in Seoul, marks the 41st iteration of this significant exhibition dedicated to medical technology and hospital facilities. This year's event is particularly noteworthy as it will showcase the first official keynote program in its 46-year history, titled 'First Pulse: AI in Healthcare.' This initiative represents a shift from being a traditional exhibit to evolving into a multifaceted platform that integrates technology with business strategy, highlighting a key milestone in the industry’s progress.
The keynote program, taking place on March 19 from noon to 6 PM, will feature industry leaders from top organizations including Seoul National University Hospital, Naver, Kakao Healthcare, Samsung Electronics, Amorepacific, and Google DeepMind. These experts will discuss pivotal themes such as artificial intelligence, data utilization, and life healthcare innovations, signaling a moment of transformation in the South Korean healthcare industry, driven by technological advancements.
The initial keynote will be delivered by Jang Kyu-hyuk from Google DeepMind, focusing on 'A New Horizon in the Healthcare Ecosystem Opened by Gemini.' Following this, insights on preparing the healthcare industry for the AI era will be shared by Jang Byeong-tak of Seoul National University Hospital. Naver's Choi In-hyuk and Kakao Healthcare's Hwang Hee will present topics regarding the future of healthcare through data and AI, further enriching the conversation surrounding digital healthcare and the strategic role of major corporations in this evolving landscape.
