K-Battery Products and Technology Gathered in One Place... Consultation for Symbiotic Purchasing at SMEs' Booths
The 14th International Battery Exhibition 'InterBattery 2026' opened in Seoul, attracting attendees from various sectors to explore innovations in battery technology and products.
The 14th International Battery Exhibition 'InterBattery 2026' commenced in Seoul's COEX Convention Center, showcasing the latest advancements in battery technology and products. Businesses and professionals from the battery industry, as well as the general public, gathered to learn about innovative solutions, including products that incorporate new battery materials. Notably, a company representative expressed interest in networking opportunities related to applications in sectors such as drones and robotics. The event featured various presentations and demonstrations, including one by Samsung SDI, which drew considerable attention from attendees.
The event, running until the 13th, includes participation from 667 domestic and international companies, presenting over 2,380 individual promotional booths. A standout feature of the exhibition was the newly established 'Humanoid Robotics Special Zone', signifying the battery industry's intention to diversify products beyond electric vehicles to include robotics. One key highlight was the debut of a humanoid robot platform, 'Maxima-W1', which is currently being trained in POSCO's molten iron production process and is expected to be employed in high-risk industrial applications in two years. This robot utilizes lithium-ion batteries manufactured by a domestic small-to-medium-sized enterprise.
Major battery cell and material companies like POSCO Future M also showcased their products aimed at emerging markets, presenting advanced materials for solid-state batteries and lithium iron phosphate used in energy storage systems. This exhibition emphasizes the ongoing developments in battery technologies that are increasingly essential for the future of industries, including renewable energy and autonomous vehicles, reflecting the industry's commitment to innovation and meeting evolving market demands.
