Health fair for women awaiting treatment in the SUS will offer over 400 appointments in Boa Vista

A health initiative in Boa Vista, Brazil, will provide free consultations and exams for women in the public health system waiting for procedures.

On Saturday, a health fair in Boa Vista, Brazil, organized by the University Hospital of the Federal University of Roraima (HU-UFRR), will aim to provide free consultations and exams to over 400 women currently on waiting lists in the Unified Health System (SUS). This initiative is part of a broader effort to address the backlog of procedures and ensure better access to healthcare for women in the region. Patients will need a referral from the SUS Regulatory Center linked to the State Health Department (Sesau) to receive services during the event.

The health fair, scheduled to operate from 7 AM to noon and from 1 PM to 7 PM, will take place at the headquarters of HU, which is located at Avenida Nazaré Filgueiras in the Dr. Silvio Botelho neighborhood of West Boa Vista. The event, named "Dia E – Ebserh in Action," reflects ongoing efforts by the Brazilian Hospital Services Company (Ebserh), which manages the facility under the Ministry of Education (MEC). This initiative is crucial as it addresses both the healthcare needs and the delays experienced by many women awaiting necessary medical care.

This proactive approach not only aims to provide immediate relief to those in need of medical attention but also highlights the importance of accessibility in the SUS. By providing these free services, the hospital demonstrates its commitment to improving public health and the quality of care for women, while also raising awareness about the existing challenges within the healthcare system in Brazil, particularly in remote or underserved areas.
