A rescued American Bully named Lua, who suffered from mistreatment and severe malnourishment, has turned her life around after being adopted in Volta Redonda, RJ. Lua was found chained and in poor health after reports of animal cruelty led the Municipal Secretary for Animal Protection and Defense (SMPDA) to intervene. Initial assessments revealed Lua's critical condition, which prompted immediate veterinary care and rehabilitation efforts to restore her health.

Following a significant recovery, Lua was made available for adoption under responsible conditions. Ailton Almeida Silva, a resident of the São Carlos neighborhood, chose to adopt Lua after experiencing the tragic loss of two of his dogs.
