A mistreated Pitbull was rescued in Volta Redonda, Brazil, after being found in a severely weakened state with visible injuries.
A Pitbull showing clear signs of mistreatment was rescued on Monday, February 2nd, in Volta Redonda, RJ, Brazil. The dog was discovered along the margins of the Contorno Highway, near the Santo Agostinho neighborhood. According to the Municipal Secretariat of Public Order (Semop), the animal was extremely thin, dehydrated, and in a visibly weakened condition, exhibiting lesions around its eyes and injuries on its paws, as well as long nails and clear signs of weakness.
The rescue operation was supported by the Municipal Secretariat of Animal Protection and Defense (SMPDA), which provided initial medical assistance to the dog. Following the initial care, the Pitbull was taken to a veterinary facility for a thorough medical evaluation and treatment. The SMPDA is closely monitoring the dog's recovery, ensuring that it receives the necessary medical attention to rehabilitate its health.
Once the dog has recovered, the SMPDA has announced that it will be made available for responsible adoption.
