In a significant drug trafficking bust, a passenger at the Fortaleza airport was arrested after ingesting 113 capsules of drugs in an attempt to smuggle them to Paris. This incident occurred on the weekend, where authorities also apprehended another suspect who was carrying approximately 2.3 kilograms of drugs hidden on her body, as well as another individual who expelled 13 capsules he had swallowed after being detained. These arrests highlight the ongoing challenge of drug smuggling in airports, especially targeting European destinations.

The Federal Police conducted random checks and risk analyses at the airport which resulted in these arrests.
