In São José do Rio Preto, Brazil, the investigation into a garage owner accused of fraud involving unauthorized car financing has revealed a dramatic increase in victims, now exceeding 60 individuals. The police have reported that these victims have collectively lost around R$ 3 million due to the unscrupulous activities of the businessman, which included deceitful dealings and improper transfers executed at a notary office.

Delegate Jonathan Marcondes, who oversees the investigation, confirmed that search warrants were executed at three locations associated with the suspect. During these operations, law enforcement recovered a vehicle and two computers from the garage, presumably containing evidence to further support the victims' claims. The police are actively searching for the garage owner, who has yet to be located, indicating that he is currently evading authorities.

Additionally, the investigation has shed light on the plight of four former employees of the garage, who reported having been misled and suffered financial losses through investments that did not yield returns. This case highlights significant concerns surrounding fraudulent business practices in the region, and the ongoing police efforts aim to bring the perpetrator to justice and recover the losses for the victims.
