A fire broke out in an apartment on the 8th floor of a nine-story building located on Partizanų street in Kaunas. Emergency reports were received at around 3:46 PM, prompting local firefighters to respond swiftly. Upon arrival, the firefighters encountered smoke in the staircase as well, indicating that the situation was serious and required immediate action.

The owner of the apartment was discovered inside the property, found on the ground in the corridor. Initial assessments suggest that the individual may have suffered from smoke inhalation, as he was promptly handed over to medical personnel for urgent treatment. The cause of the fire was determined shortly after; a pot left on the stove had ignited, serving as the focal point of the flames.
