Firefighters in Võrumaa responded to a call for help when a large dog became stuck in the soft ground of a marsh. The incident took place on March 14 in the village of Viitka, where local authorities were dispatched to rescue the animal, which was unable to extricate itself. The dog's owner had made several attempts to pull it free but could not manage it due to the challenging terrain.

Upon arrival, a firefighter equipped in a dry suit navigated the difficult ground, submerged up to his waist in water, to reach the stranded dog.
