A young boy was rescued from a challenging situation in Vanhankaupunginlahti, Helsinki on Saturday after he contacted emergency services to report that he was in danger of drowning. The Helsinki Rescue Department utilized a drone to locate the child, who was stuck in a dense area of reeds several meters high. Rescuers quickly mobilized, employing a helicopter to lift him to safety.

According to reports, the boy had been fishing before getting into trouble. Fortunately, he was primarily wet only from the waist down and was not in immediate life-threatening condition when he was found. The entire rescue operation commenced around 3:20 PM and concluded shortly after 4 PM, highlighting the swift response of emergency services in urban areas.

Once the rescue was successful, authorities ensured that the boy was safely returned to his home.
