On Sunday, nine individuals suffered injuries when a bus overturned on the BA-670 highway close to Itapetinga in the southwest of Bahia. The bus was traveling from Porto Seguro to Guanambi and had a total of 37 passengers on board, including the driver. Witness reports suggest that the driver was speeding on a curvy section of the road known as "Cavalo Preto," which may have contributed to the accident. The incident is currently under investigation by the Federal Highway Police.

In the aftermath of the crash, those injured were taken to Cristo Redentor Hospital in Itapetinga, where they were reported to have sustained light injuries. The bus company, Nova Horizonte, has stated that they are providing assistance to the wounded passengers and continuing to monitor the situation. Additionally, the company assured that they would be cooperating with authorities in the investigation.
