An airline lands in Argentina to offer flights to Madrid at 'very good prices'
Spanish airline Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas will begin operating flights between Buenos Aires and Madrid starting in May 2026, increasing connectivity between the two countries.
Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas, a Spanish airline, has announced its plans to commence flight operations between Buenos Aires and Madrid beginning in May 2026. This development comes as a result of strong familial ties, shared language, and the demand for air connectivity between Argentina and Europe, particularly through Spain. Many Argentines traveling to Europe typically enter through Madrid, making this new route significant for enhancing travel options to the continent.
The airline's director, Gibson Preziuso, revealed that the first flight will take off from Madrid on May 23, arriving in Buenos Aires the next morning. The initial schedule will include two flights each week from Ezeiza International Airport to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. Following this, the frequency will increase to three flights per week in June, and four flights weekly beginning in July, illustrating Plus Ultra's commitment to expanding its presence in the Americas.
This entry into the Argentine market not only demonstrates Plus Ultra's response to the ongoing travel demand but also reflects the growing trend of airlines expanding their international routes to cater to both leisure and family travelers. The upcoming addition of affordable flight options will likely enhance travel opportunities for many Argentines, making connections to Europe more accessible and economically viable as international travel resumes post-pandemic.
