Gallery: Tislar, Talvet and Soosaar Opened the Exhibition 'After-Collectors' in Pärnu

Prominent artists Karin Tislar, Jüri Talvet, and Mark Soosaar reflect on their 80 years of life through an exhibition at the Pärnu New Art Museum.

The exhibition 'After-Collectors', recently opened by esteemed Estonian artists Karin Tislar, Jüri Talvet, and Mark Soosaar at the Pärnu New Art Museum, serves as a retrospective glance at their long artistic careers spanning over 80 years. Tislar presents a collection of gobelin tapestries and textile fabrics, while Talvet contributes numerous poetry books and linguistic studies, showcasing the diversity of their artistic endeavors. Soosaar, an accomplished filmmaker, revives forgotten films set in Pärnu, including 'Kuldtõld' (1970) and 'Nikolai Street' (2001), and for the first time exhibits paintings created during his childhood and student years.

The underlying message of the exhibition encourages young Estonian artists to embark on their creative journeys as early as possible, emphasizing that this is essential for achieving success on an international scale. By being proactive in their artistic pursuits, they can elevate their work beyond local recognition, thereby avoiding the pitfalls of obscurity. The collaborative effort in curating and designing the exhibition reflects the supportive community surrounding the artists, highlighting figures such as Kersti Uibo, Kristel Kallau, Margus Tomp, and Marie Virta who have contributed to its realization.

'After-Collectors' is set to run until April 19th, providing an opportunity for art lovers in Estonia to immerse themselves in the rich histories and contributions of these three artists. The exhibition not only showcases their individual talents but also serves as an inspiration for the next generation of creators in the Estonian art scene.
