The International Star Festival in Liepāja concluded with a rich orchestral concert featuring renowned musicians and original compositions.

The International Star Festival, hosted by the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra for the 34th time, took place over the weekend, showcasing a variety of performances. On March 13, attendees were treated to an exquisite program presented by Polish chamber musicians, setting a sophisticated tone for the festival. The following day, the concert featuring the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra highlighted prominent stars from Northern European music, including Kristian Lindberg and Roland Pentinens. The festival's closing concert was particularly noteworthy, as renowned trombonist and conductor Kristian Lindberg led the orchestra through a program that included not only classical masterpieces but also two of his original compositions. One of these was 'Tarantula,' a symphonic piece, and 'El poder de la vida' ('The Power of Life'), a concert for trombone and orchestra that marked its world premiere during the event. This blend of traditional and contemporary works showcased the festival's commitment to celebrating both established and emerging talents in the music world. Joined by Swedish pianist Roland Pentinens, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra performed one of the Romantic era's masterpieces, Robert Schumann’s compositions, under Lindberg’s direction. The festival not only celebrated musical artistry but also served as a platform for cultural exchange, bringing together local audiences and international artists in a shared appreciation for music's expressive power.
