Unknown man followed and raped teenage girl in a trash shelter - nurse witnessed the shocking moment

A 39-year-old man was found guilty of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in Helsinki after he followed her to a trash shelter.

In November last year in Helsinki, a 16-year-old girl was returning to her children's home after mistakenly getting off at the wrong stop. As she walked, she encountered a 39-year-old man named Alaum Alaum, who approached her with drug offers and attempted to buy sex from her. Despite her refusal, the man followed her to the children's home and assaulted her in a nearby trash shelter.

According to the Helsinki District Court's ruling, Alaum aggressively attempted to kiss the girl and then forcibly undressed and raped her in various ways while she screamed for him to stop. The victim, who was intoxicated during the encounter, was able to escape and made her way back to the children's home, where a nurse immediately recognized something was wrong.

This case highlights the serious issue of sexually motivated violence against minors, with a specific focus on the vulnerabilities of young girls in urban environments. The implications of such crimes extend beyond individual cases, impacting community safety and leading to calls for improved protective measures for minors against such threats in Finland.
