Traffic in the Areia Preta neighborhood has closures starting this Monday (16) for construction work, announces STTU

Traffic disruptions will begin in the Areia Preta neighborhood of Natal, Brazil, due to infrastructure works starting on Monday, October 16.

The Urban Mobility Secretariat (STTU) of Natal, Brazil, announced on Monday, October 16, that there will be traffic disruptions and temporary changes in the Areia Preta neighborhood as part of infrastructure work being carried out by the Municipal Infrastructure Secretariat. The works are scheduled to last for approximately 90 days, starting from 8:30 AM, and are aimed at improving the local traffic system.

Key changes include a partial closure of Avenida Governador Sílvio Pedrosa, particularly near the intersections of Rua Pinto Martins and Rua Fabrício Pedroza, where a "Follow and Stop" system will be implemented to allow for alternating vehicle flow. Additionally, there will be a complete closure at the access to Rua Fabrício Pedroza via Rua do Motor and Ladeira do Sol, emphasizing the need for commuters to be aware of the new traffic configurations.

The STTU advises residents and commuters to plan their routes accordingly and provides information about the accessibility to the Municipal Health and Education Secretariats, ensuring that services remain reachable despite the ongoing construction. These infrastructure improvements are part of a larger effort to enhance urban mobility in Natal, reflecting the city's commitment to modernizing its traffic and community facilities.
