Fiat Toro, Jeep Commander, and Ram Rampage recalled for fire risk
Stellantis has announced a recall for Fiat Toro, Jeep Commander, and Ram Rampage models due to a risk of fuel leaks that could lead to fire.
Stellantis has initiated a recall of several vehicle models, including the Fiat Toro, Jeep Commander, and Ram Rampage, due to a potential defect in the fuel return line connection. This issue raises concerns of possible fuel leaks, which, if they come into contact with hot engine parts, could ignite and result in a fire hazard. The recall also extends to commercial vehicle models such as the Fiat Ducato, Citroรซn Jumper, and Peugeot Boxer, highlighting a broader safety issue across multiple brands under the Stellantis umbrella.
The company has advised vehicle owners to contact their dealerships to schedule an inspection starting March 16. If necessary, the defective fuel return tube will be replaced, which is expected to take around two hours and will be performed at no cost to the owners. This proactive approach aims to ensure the safety and peace of mind of the vehicle users, preventing any potential incidents related to the defect.
Although Stellantis has not released the total number of affected units, the announcement emphasizes the importance of addressing automotive safety concerns swiftly to maintain consumer trust. The recall reflects the challenges automakers face in ensuring quality and safety in their vehicles, as well as their commitment to responding rapidly when issues arise.
