Wesco has launched a new plant in Quito with a $15 million investment, aiming to triple its production capacity from 10 to 30 million liters annually.
Wesco, a company under the Krear Group, has inaugurated a new plant in northern Quito, Ecuador, with an investment of $15 million aimed at significantly increasing its production capacity. The new facility, which began operations on March 2, 2026, will allow Wesco to boost its annual production from 10 million to 30 million liters and to enhance its presence in both national and international markets.
The construction of the plant was initiated in October 2023, and since the start of this investment project, the company has also expanded its workforce from 60 to 115 employees. This growth not only reflects Wesco’s commitment to increasing production but also indicates a positive contribution to job creation in the region. Sebastián Betancourt, the Operations Director of Wesco, highlighted the company's efforts to remain one of the few paint manufacturers in Ecuador with regular export activities.
Wesco currently ranks as the third largest company in the paints market in Ecuador and has ambitious plans to strengthen its position both domestically and internationally. The company aims to use the increased production capacity to further its goals of expanding into new markets, underlining the importance of growth in manufacturing sectors for the overall economy of Ecuador.
